The Thermaltake BlacX eSATA USB Docking Station is what an external drive should be. This docking station gives you the ability to take a standard type eSata hard drive and place it in the dock. You then connect the dock to your PC via eSata or USB connection. In essence, with this setup you truly could mirror your computer's hard drive with a software application such as Acronis and when your internal drive fails or becomes infected with a virus, you would simply swap the drive in the computer with the drive in the docking station. This is what I call a true backup solution...
